Incredible location:
Alcoleja with its 294 inhabitants, is located 40Km from the
festive times of Benidorm, 60 Km from Alicante’s amenities (airport,
marina, golf…) and 120 Km from the modern and traditional 3rd
largest city in Spain, Valencia. By taking the road CV70 which joins
Villajoyosa to Alcoy you will soon be on a wonderful white beach. 4 Km
from Alcoleja in the direction of the beach you will discover the wildlife
park Safary Aitana.
Alcoleja is 739m above sea level, it is the village closest
to the summit of Mountain Aitana which is 1535m in altitude, the highest
in Alicante province and to the closest to the Mediterranean sea.
“La Llar d’Aitana”, (Aitana’s home), has its name in the honour of Aitana’s Mountain , is situated in the upper street parallel to the road that crosses the village. It is a typical village cottage before 19th Century. It has been completed restaured keeping and improving the traditional materials in its structure : wood, stone and earthenware. We have kept the same or identical materials than the original house. The same criteria has been followed in the decoration and furniture, choosing those objects that harmonised in its entirety.
